Chance of Rain Then A Possible Heat Wave

It has been a cool & partly cloudy Saturday around the Interior Lowlands. Highs have been in the low-mid 70s, making for a comfortable day with a nice breeze.

Sunday night-Monday morning brings a chance of showers. Take a look at the UW model forecast for precipitation (through 5 AM Monday).

I expect that the South & Central Sound will get a trace to 0.20 inches of rain. If your location receives rain, it will likely be the last rain you get for at least a week...

As we enter September, temperatures will begin to gradually warm up. The weather.com forecast for Puyallup indicates temps in the 80s starting September 1st (Tuesday).

That's not all. Late next week, significant heat begins to build in Western Washington. Below is the Puyallup forecast.

Wow! Multiple days above 85 degrees. At this point, confidence in this forecast is medium, and I would prepare for some hot days in the next couple weeks.

Of particular interest to me is this Thursday and Friday, and the 6th-9th. With this forecast, it will be a hot Labor Day weekend around Western Washington.

Stay tuned for updates regarding the possibility of a September heat wave.
